4th in weapons, Just being a proud dad. He is still a orange belt today, but will be moving up to his purple belt this coming week ( if all goes well) He only did the bo staff today, but also does swords. (**** I have tried to upload a couple photos, but they are too large of file If I figure that out I will post it)

Yes, he has been in it almost 4 years now, His best friend, same age just made black belt. One of the youngest, ** but then her mom is a 6th degree black belt also. He has got started into board breaking, he loves it. He uses the bo and sword mostly but he takes weapon classes to learn various ones.

Congrats! I assume this MA was Taekwondo? I'm an advocate for children being involved in discipline arts. It helps our children build self-esteem and respect for others. When they get older it also keeps them out of trouble from the peer pressure and negative distractions. Just a side note, any one interested in getting your child involved, Korean Taekwondo is a wonderful discipline for children, Okinawan style Karate, Chinese Wing Chun and Tai Chi Kung Fu, as well. Of course all those arts are also good for adults. Tai Chi is good for health reasons and considered old science/medicine to the Chinese culture as the elderly continue to practice the art faithfully. Adults strictly seeking self-defence orientated skills may like Jeet Kune Do (started out American/Chinese based) the way of the intercepting fist is multiple arts combined, Kali (Filipino) hands, feet, sticks, and knives, and Krav Maga (Israeli) a multiple fighting arts system teaching you to adapt to your surrounding.

Yes we just changed his school this year from the American Taekwondo to the Korean Taekwondo, the form and movement is better ( opinoin).
We do at least 4 days a week ( his choice)

YAY! That is quite an accomplishment!

My little brother went to the World Championships in Viareggio, Italy two years ago and won the bo staff/weapons kata! He's an amazing inspiration. He actually beat out two black belts and he was only brown at the time... now, he's black, but it was such an awesome thing watching him.

I'm just a little ol' orange belt... purple is next for me, but I haven't done it in a few years... My Mother though... sheesh... is a recommended black... All I can say is that I'm glad she waited until after I was out of the house to start Kenpo! :)
