    Constipation after surgery
 I had a laparoscopy on Monday and was prescribed loratab 7.5. I have not had a bowel movement sense Sunday and today is Thursday. I have taken 6tbsp of milk of magnesia and nothing still. When should I start to worry? Any advise of what else can get it moving?

Lortabs are very constipating, try mixing prune juice with your milk of mag, there is also senna, sennagen, colace, mag citrate, etc. If you haven't already I would quit taking the lortabs for a while if you can handle it. Also tylenol is constipating so don't use that as a substitute trying to back off on the lortabs. I would also suggest that you see your doctor, he may be able to prescribe you some lactulose, and you don't want to get to backed up.
