They would most likely find out. I would not do this, if you talk to your probation officer about it he/she might give you a pass to leave the country for a period. My hubby was on probation for a felony charge and was not allowed to leave the state, but his officer was very helpful getting him passes to go out of state for nascar races, work, etc. I can't guarantee that they would be so helpful about leaving the country but it is better to ask then to get caught breaking their rules

Many ways to find out, plane ticket, if you get caught doing something there, if perhaps some friend gets mad at you and turns you in. Perhaps a neighbor turns you in. Why not ask permission to go on vacation ?

Why risk violating yourself for a 5 day vacation to Mexico. You're supposed to be on probation, not vacation. If you are caught the state could care less about a vacation. You will go to jail and await a probation violation hearing. I would strongly advise not going and risking everything.

    Hello Drew:

If they wanted to find out if you went, it would be easy for them.

I would NEVER thumb my nose at the terms of my probation. How could you possibly have a good time in Cancun knowing you could get in serious trouble for being there? Can't you find a nice vacation spot somewhere in the states?
