I tried to unistall a 1995 version of McaFee anti-virus protection from my computer but when I click on remove in the control panel it says I can't remove it because it can't find some file. What should I do?

Reinstall then uninstall. If you can't do that, you can delete the folder and use a Registry cleanr like CCleaner to get the rest out.

I think there are also some more complete removers that remove everything associated with the program. Sorry I can't think of any names right now, you can probably do a search for "Program Remover" or something.
