    New York State Form for Student Who Interned in VA
    Hi -

    My daughter is a full time SUNY Buffalo student. Last summer she interned for a corporation in Virginia. That corporation coordinated her stay with a local college in their dorm facilities. The length of the internship was three months.

    My question is what New York State form should I use for her taxes? IT-201 or the IT-203. 80% of her income last year was from this intern opportunity.

    What is her state of residence(most likely yours)?
    If her state of residence is NY then she files a 201, if it is another state then she files a 203.
