    Good temp for empty house?
We are moving out of our house in Ohio where winter temps can get into the negative degrees (F). We would like to turn the heat down so as not to pay outrageous gas bills. What would be a safe temperature to set the thermostat to so that everything keeps working in the house (pips, water heater, etc). We will be moving out of the state, so the only person that will be adjusting it will be our relator when she has open houses to do.

    Thanks!

As long as it is above freezing it should be fine, in the 40's would be safe. Might want it higher if the relator will be showing it a lot so it warms up quicker.

Check your home insurance. Some policies have clauses that say the home must be inspected every few days or the policy becomes invalid.

Turn your water heater off. Consider turning your water off at the main.

I agree with what Amricca says
