After 2001 I have a company calling on a credit card that was charged off by the credit card company. Can they still come to me for that?

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.
Yes a charge off has nothing to do with your obligation to pay. Its simply a tax maneuver on their part.
Hey Cowgirl, Scott is totally correct on both points. You may want to check the statute of limitations in your state. If it has expired that company likely bought your debt for less than 10 cents on the dollar and now they are on a fishing expedition. They want you to blink, don't admit to the debt or agree to pay in any manner, that would restart the statute. If the statute is still running you are legally bound to pay the debt.
