    Mother keeping belongings
My name is Tatianna. I just turned 18 years old. I have been planning to move for a while now due to problems I had at home with my parents especially my mother. One day I could not take it anymore so I just left and she let me. I now live with my aunt but she threw all of my belongings out so my friend can pick them up except for the most important things like my birth certificate, new cell phones, and chargers, social security card, state I.d, and school i.d. its really hard for me and she refuses to give it back what should I do?

Can you talk to your Aunt about this? If your Aunt would intercede for you and talk to your Mom, perhaps that would help you to get your things. Where is your Dad on this?

You can get a copy of your birth certificate, and the IDs pretty easily. Did you get the cell phones on a contract? Can you report them as stolen?

Getting your aunt to intervene might be the best solution, otherwise, replace what's replaceable.

Use other public resources, such as a pastor, local mental health counselor, or the sheriff.
