    Craftsman lawnmower pto clutch switch
I have a Craftsman DYT 4000 rider. When the electric clutch switch is pulled the engine dies. I disconnected the wiring at the clutch and started the mower which ran fine even when I pulled the switch. I thought I would use my volt meter to check voltage but when I connected the two leads to the end plug the engine died when I pulled the switch. Do you think it's just a bad clutch switch? Thanks!!

What did you have you volt meter set to check for? Continuity, or voltage.

I had the meter set on voltage DC. I had an I&E tech at work check the switch and it seems to be OK.
