    Hello:

Now that the DVD war has been settled, it seems the PS2 is the cheapest Blu Ray DVD player out there by a couple hunski's. Is there a reason why I shouldn't buy it?

My husband was in the gaming industry for years.

I haven't heard anything bad about it from the various people we still know in the business, and several of them own it.

Buying the PS3 for blu-ray compatibility is a good choice. Similar research done by myself also shows that the PS3 is cheaper than all other models, plus you get to play games:)

However, I did read about t.v's and blu-ray, HD related issues. Some t.v's cannot handle the signal or output. Something to do with 1080p or 1080i, some t.v's can only reach the lesser and so unless you havea t.v that can handle it, it's a waste.

Also, with the HD war over I'm sure blu-ray prices will not drop, I'd wait a bit until they do drop, just that they are soooo friggin expensive and eventually your eyes will adjust right?

No reason, as BMI says the PS3(dont go and ask for a PS2, that would be a mistake on your part) also plays great games as well and as you've stated it is the cheapest blu ray player out there.

Hi, the only reason you shouldt buy the ps3 is that the online gaming sucks compared to the xbox 360's. Apart from that, the ps3 rules, built in controller battery's, hdmi, blu ray etc.
