    How long will it take?
    If a guy works out 2-3 times a week and eats healthy, how long will it take to see results?

    Depends on your definition of results and your workout and your starting point. What's your goal? What are you doing? How is your fitness?

    For ex, my wife is in good shape but she started hitting the gym hard, first 3-4 times a week, then everyday. Cardio, weights, yoga, pilates. In 4 weeks she saw a difference in weight, clothing fit, and muscle definition.

    Personally, I think it takes up to 6-8 weeks to get into a workout routine that is sustainable... that is, you are no longer making yourself do it, you are starting to feel the results and notice differences in strength and form.

    I know that's not an answer, but I don't know where you are, what your goal is, what your workout is, etc. more details.

    I think 6-8 weeks is a perfect guideline. I know personally that it takes me about that long after a long layoff. My layoffs are to help balance out my diet, hormones, and give my joints and connective tissue, and total body a good rest...

    It should take about 6-8 weeks to get your connective tissue strong, along with your nervous system. Your nervous system takes the biggest hit because you have added a new stress to your body and overall/everyday lifestyle. Your body needs this time to adapt, whether it be with a new diet, exercise regime, and amount of rest/sleep you need to help with recovery. I truly believe that true muscle building and fat loss doesn't "really" start until this 6-8 week period is over. Be patient, and good luck.

    My usual goal for my clients is 90 days. 90 days... and you'll see a pretty large transformation. Within 2 months, you should start seeing some changes, but near the end of the 3rd month is when you really see it in the mirror.

    Don't forget though... just working out really isn't enough. Got to watch what you eat. It's really really really important.

    From my experience. You will notice a change with in a month depending on your work out. You'r friends and family will notice it more than yourself. Keep up with your work out. It's nice to see people reaching goals.

    And don't forget to mix up your workout. Left to my own devices, id simply use the treadmill or elliptical, and then a combination of free weights and weight machines... but I've done some of my wife's pilates tapes at home, and I can tell you it'll kick your butt hard. Think sissy all you want, the first time I did the "intro" pilates tape... not the beginner program, the intro to the positions tape, I FELT it the next day. Pilates also cranked her stomach in within four weeks to she could see that line that runs down the middle of her abs. impressive stuff. Keeping your body guessing is better than a rut routine over and over without change.

    So... in what areas are you trying to get definition? Are your generally fit? Need to lose some weight? What is your workout? Still don't have a clear sense of your goal and where you are...

    Depends on the shape that your in now, are you very overweight or very out of shape? Age plays a big factor, also, With a basic exercise program, 30-60 minutes of varied programs, like weights/resistance training, aerobics, running, biking, swimming, (but a overall body program, you can see results in 4-8 weeks, if your in basic good shape to start with, The more negitives you put in the picture, the longer it will take. It takes 50% nutrition and 50% exercise to get results.
