    Do I have to claim child support payments in my California State taxes? The kids lived with me the whole year.

    Yes; child support is considered income. If you received any support, you need to claim it.

    Sorry, This8384, that is NOT the case.

    Child support payments are neither INCOME for the recipient nor tax-deductible for the payer.

    Alimony IS income, but NOT child support.
