I live in Florida, and I own my home. I have a room mate that REFUSES to move out, although I have told the person many times I would like for them to leave. They tell me that I will have to have them legally removed from my home.
WHat do I do to have this person removed? Although I would like to change the locks and leave all their belongings in the front yard, I don't think that's legal if you let someone live in your house and they are paying rent. Please help!

It's just the way it is. You have to do it legally. You should call your local police dept. and see how it's done in your area. Here you have to give a couple of written notices and then the sheriff will get them out. I'd get started on it now so that it will be over faster. Good luck

Did this person sign a lease with you, if so you will have to abide by what the lease says. But I would do what the person asks. Get a lawyer, or at least consult with one, and legally have them removed. Did you give them a written 30 day eviction notice, always put everything in writing. Good luck!

I do not have a lease with the person, and I have not given them a 30 day notice. I haven't done anything except ask them politely to move out on many different occasions.

So I am guessing I have to find a real estate attorney to handle this for me? ANy idea how much this is going to cost me??
