Has anything changed to make the gas pressure higher?
Not that I am aware of
If the pilot looks OK then I would say no problem. If it is off to one side or not burning blue with a small yellow tip I would say clean the pilot orifice.
I put two gas fireplaces in my existing fireboxes with ignitors. I have run 2 separate gas lines from the main source with the proper piping. The pilot on the first floor is very loud when it is lit, but once I change the pressure valve it got better.

The problem I am having is that the basement fireplace's pilot light will not ignite. I have moved the thermocouple, and checked the spark. I have tried several different solutions but I just can't get the basement fireplace to light. Any suggestions would be helpful and budget is important. It could be a draft issue but I don't feel a high velocity draft near the pilot and I have tried with the damper open and closed with no difference in conclusion. Thanks for any help and the fireplaces and pilots are from Menard's so we are not talking high end products.
