He asked me to be his girlfriend.but he was drinking at the time?
The guy I've been dating and am crazy about recently asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course I said yes. The only problem is that he asked me while he was drinking so I am left to wonder if he was really serious. We have known each other for almost a year (some of that time he was deployed and we kept in touch through letters). We get along great and love spending time together. I want to just ask him straight out if he really meant it, but in some ways I guess I'm scared to since he just got back and I don't want to scare him away so to speak. Not sure where his head is at... he hasn't brought it up again since the other night?? Please Help!

Well he is the one that said it whether he was drunk or not!! Just tell him what he said, it shouldn't come in between you no matter what he says now, I have always been told my true feelings come out when I'm drinking and I have seen others like this, so maybe he is the same way!!

You could bring it up in a joking around way like haha you sure are funny when you are drunk
Can you believe you asked me to be your girlfriend. I take it it must have been drunk talk since you haven't brought it up again :D.

"Hey John, you were pretty drunk the other night when you brought up the whole girlfriend/boyfriend thing. You haven't mentioned it since so I want you to know I realize it might not be time yet. I'm fine with our relationship moving the way it is, but thought we should at least talk about it again now that we're sober."

Then HONESTLY talk about it without making him feel guilty if the truth is he was drunk-talking.
