    Toilet tank 4" from wall
My contractor recently installed basement toilet I just bought. It looks like the tank is 4 inches from the wall. From your site I measured the roughin dimension and it looks like it is close to 13 and 1/2 inches and I bought a toilet with a 10 inch rough-in. Do I simply need to replace with a 12 inch roughin toilet or also add an offset?

Hey Rgrow... you have purchased a 10" rough....why the 10" rough? That is usually a special order.

Anyway, with a 12 inch rough toilet.. depending on model... your closet tank will still be between 1.5 and 2.5 inches off the wall.

I would recommend that if you are measuring from the finish WALL (not the wood baseboard) 13.5 inches to center of toilet flange (to the center of bolts at toilet bowl)... then you need to order a 14 " rough toilet... it will be tight... but should give a good tight fit. This also, normally a special order.. so does limit choices available... but there are good choices (check American Standard and Kohler toilets for 14 " rough toilets).

An offset flange can also be used... but can be involved depending on how far along your project is... so try this first.. get back to us.
