    My bathtub facuet is leaking
My bathtub faucet is leaking. I do not know what type of manufacturer made the faucet. A plumber wants to charge me to remove the tile and replace all the plumbing work, but he never really tried to determine what type of faucet it is. Is this necessary to do this work or can I remove the steam a bring it to a plumbing store so they can figure out what type of brand it is.

This is got to be one of the dumbest replies I ever said but...
Try to shut the faucets tighter. Like turn the knob really tight.
If not then you got yourself a plumbing issue. I think your plumber is trying ot rip you off, so my best guess, call a different plumber. Get a 2nd opinion :p

One handle or two? This could be a cartridge that can be repaired or replaced without touchinh the tile. If it is a valve stem it can be remove, rebuilt with new washers and a seat. This plumber doesn't sound right to me if I have your situation understood correctly.

Be asured that trying to over tightening the faucet is not the answer. Can you post a picture of the faucet. Is it a single of two handle faucet. Sometimes there is an emblem on the handle even though the manufactuer's name is not on it.
