Okay this is probably the lamest question, and I'm probably even asking in the wrong category... but can someone explain how a Tivo works? From what I can figure it's similar to a vcr or dvr, and you can program in your fave shows and it will record them automatically whenever they're on. But, other than that I don't get it. What is so much different that a vcr? Also, are they expensive?

Oh man GET A TiVo it's so much more then a DVR!! With the TiVo there is a desktop software called TiVo desktop You can load all your MP3's and Photo's into it and play them through your TV. Plus after you record a show you can connect the TiVo to your router and rip the show from the TiVo and save it to your PC!! With different programs you can rip DVD's to your PC then Convert them into a format TiVo can play. You never need to buy another DVD again!! Also Through Amazon unbox you can buy or rent movies and they Download directly to your TiVo box. I bought one around Xmas and I have NEVER BEEN HAPPIER!!
