I was on OPT & CPT till Sep 2007 and then changed my status to H1b on 1st Oct 2007.
I also got married in dec 2007.
My wife is on H4 visa and does not work.

What forms do I need to file? Can I file as a resident?

You can file jointly with your wife and you BOTH choose to be treated as resident aliens fr all of 2007, You must sign a statement to that effect and attach it to the Form 1040.

Because of the statement, the tax return must be mailed; no efiling.
