We have had our sewer line replaced from cast iron to ABS. We have noticed that apart of line is too high , resulting in some back up. We were told to lower that section using MJ clamps. The MJ clamps have solved the problem, the flow is finally correct. We had to use 5 MJ clamps. My question is : Is this a permanent solution? Is 5 clamps too much to use?
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

You need to do a browse and then an upload, twice and then submit answer.

Thanks KISS... Green, try what he said. Once in advanced features, click on MANAGE ATTACHMENTS, then as KISS said, click on browse, add file, and then upload. Then browse again, add other file, and then upload that. Then submit. I will check back.

You can see 3 clamps in the new resized photo. There are 2 others which are further apart. The water is from the ground not from the ABS, we have never had problems with leaking. Not yet. I have more pics if that helps.

NOPE.. all set on pics. GREEN... I would prefer to see a coupling between the two straight pieces of pipe... BUT, all in all... looks like a good job.

ANd in case you are wondering, clamps are used underground all the time. In my area they require 4 band type clamps... but in your area they may allow the two band type clamps you have on (never hurts to call and ask a local plumbing inspector anyway... )

So you should be all set... just be sure to pack the dirt back in real strong UNDER/around pipe so will not settle back down.

I have installed entire buildings using No-Hub clamps. Both underground and throughout the building. As Massplumber sez; "So you should be all set...just be sure to pack the dirt back in real strong UNDER/around pipe so will not settle back down." Good luck, Tom
