Underage drinking and using someone else's id.
My friend was out drinking at a local kareoke lounge... when police came, they asked for his id and he told them that he was underage, then afterwards the police checked his wallet.. and found someone else's id in it...

So he ended up with 2 tickets
    1) drinking under 19
    2) possession of another id

    This happened in toronto, ontario.

So if anyone has any input, it would be much appreciated.

Yep, most sad stories start, I was out drinking and >>>>>

So they get a fine and most likely probation and a strong talking to from the judge.

He's going to have to pay the tickets and learn to either keep his mouth shut or stop carrying fake id.

He'll have to pay the fines for the two tickets.
He might have to go to classes on why drinking is bad for you.
    Maybe more.

The id he was carrying wasn't fake... just wasn't his...

n... I was just wondering if anyone knows what might happen to him..

n.. the only reason why he admitted that he was underage... was because he was... n didn't want to lie... so I duno why he should "keep his mouth shut"

So.. thanks to those that did answer...

Likely he will have to pay fines on the citations.

Now the id he had - did he steal from the other person? Or did the other person give this id to him to use, knowing that he was going out drinking? Implications for the true owner of the id.

It doesn't matter if the ID was fake or somebody else's. It wasn't HIS proper ID so same difference basically and he will have to pay the fine.
Although the friend could possibly get in trouble as well for giving it to him if that is the case.

I once had my college ID taken from me. One of my roommates knew I had gone home for the weekend and so she gave my id to the sister of her boyfriend and they went out. Got caught. I was called into the Dean's office and questioned. Thank heavens I could give solid proof that I did not stay on campus that weekend but was 200 miles away.

He could have just simply been looking after the ID for a friend, I know this is unlikely. But if he had any sense then he would have told the police that and I doubt they would be able to take any further action as he had told them he was underage. The responsibility of him drinking then lies on the bar for not checking his ID.
