Do I need passport to travel within the US
Is it true I need a passport to travel within the United States? I live in Illinois and will be going to Vegas in April and was told as of Jan 2008 you need a passport to travel within the US

No problem for US states... meaning continental or Alaska or Hawaii.

Personally, if you can afford the fee, just get a passport and be done with it. Have a friend who missed out on a great european trip for work because he could not procure one fast enough... lesson learned... just get one and stash it, if nothing else.
