    Old meat
    Hello cookers:

If you have some hamburger that's laid around for a close to a week, and then you cook it, does the time start over again?

Chuckles. Am surprised that meat has not grown legs and chased you around the kitchen! You're funny. But if this is a real serious question - the answer is no. Time to throw it out.

If you mean laid out as not in the fridge throw it away.
If you mean in the fridge and doesn't look and smell bad cook it asap and it should keep a little longer.
Cooked meat stays okay longer than raw meat.
