3 Day Notice To Pay Rent or Quit
I'm hoping someone can give me an answer because this is all new to me. I'm renting out a room in my condo. My renter has not paid her rent and promised that I will have it on 2/15/08. I didn't get it so I served her with a 3 day notice on 2/16/08 (Saturday). It states in the notice "Within three days after the the service on you". Does this mean that the clock starts ticking on 2/17/08, which is Sunday and also today is a holiday. Or does it start on a business day which will be tomorrow (2/19). I really do appreciate a response.
    Thank you.

Your notice states "Within three days..." Not, "Within three business days." So to me, that would mean that any day would count. But, hopefully others will come along also to lend their advice.

A concern that I do have though is that do you know if you are allowed to sublet a room or rooms in your condo? Some lease or purchase agreements might not allow for such a thing.

No there is nothing in my purchase agreement that states that I can't rent out a room. Thank you for your response. Sometimes the law can be technical and I just don't want this thrown out. I would like to throw tenant out because she's a nuisance now.
