A rose by any other name is still a rose
    Hello:

I'm participating in these threads and I wonder why. These arguments are silly. They come awfully close to one we had a while back about what oral sex is.

I mean, if you torture, say it. It's cool. Lot's of people want us to torture.

If you spy on Americans to get the bad guys, then say it. Lots of people think that's great too.

What's the matter with the old English language?

There is no ambiguity about oral sex. You say you can define torture by seeng it ? That implies that it is something subjective unless you can tell me which "harsh techniques "are not torture then I really can't buy your definition.
Finally ; what Congress failed to extend (the Protect America Act) had nothing to do with spying on Americans it involved communications outside the country by terrorists .

    ex,

I feel the same way about a lot of other things.

From "abortion on demand" to pro-choice/reproductive freedom/reproductive health/right to privacy. If you want to have an abortion and kill your baby say you want to have an abortion and kill your baby, not "terminate a pregnancy."

If libs want Republicans to agree with their agenda just say so, stop calling it "compromise" and telling us we need to be "open minded."

If you want to open the borders to illegal aliens, excuse me - "undocumented immigrants" - to expand your base then say so.

Stop calling racial preferences "affirmative action." There isn't much affirming in getting hired because of the color of your skin - or being the token minority interview for head coach.

I've more than my fill of "diversity." If folks want to discriminate against white male conservatives just be honest about it, that might get a little of my respect.

And stop calling everything you don't like "unconstitutional." If you don't like it just say "I don't like it."

Why not call terrorists what they are instead "insurgents," "militants" or "freedom fighters?"

I absolutely hate the word "disenfranchised," I have no idea what it means.

And perhaps my favorite, "tolerance," which is intolerance toward conservatives, Christians and the values they hold dear.
