Hardware needed for desktop in order to be wireless.
What hardware would be needed to connect to my desktop in order to go online via a wireless signal?

Your desktop needs a wireless network adapter. You also need a wireless router or access point to connect to.

    Hello Mark,

I am interpreting you statement to mean that you want to go 100% wireless from your PC to the internet (eg, no router or wired broadband service like Cable or DSL).

So, if my assumption is correct, direct wireless access from your PC to the internet would require the installation of a broadband access card in your PC and a wireless broadband account. Check out this Verizon tutorial/sales pitch to find out more: Wireless Internet Access

However, I would not recommend the above service for a desktop PC because there are many other options (ie, cable and DSL) that may provide a better quality of service and they are cheaper as well.
