    Hi I'm using a sony vaio laptop xp professional wireless and just had to use the recovery tool it has thing is now I cannot connect to the internet through my router which is a d-link dl 624 I have ran the cmd and ipconfig and I receive the ipaddress 0.0.0.0 and subnet mask 0.0.0.0 I am able to get on internet with the desk PC but unable to on the laptop any help gratefully received

    You desktop PC needs to be on when you connect with laptop .You need to configure the router correctly through the desktop PC. And also set up your laptop

    Thanks for quick reply I am able to get on internet now using the desktop with router connected and the ip is 192.168.0.100 but cannot connect with laptop still . When I try I get a message... please wait while windows connects to the dlink network and underneath.. waiting for network to be ready,, does this for about 1 min then shuts down because unable to access internet any help gratefully received... Chris

    Hi, I have just bought a d-link router, dkt-110 and we are trying to connect it to virgin broadband but I cannot get into the 192.168.0.1 site to begin, I have tried doing it through the disk but to no avail, help I'm at the 'pulling my hair out' stage. springfield54
