Funny how he left out the part he said in his interview with Playboy:

"Let's get something straight: The Democrats aren't much better."

And given the language he uses in the rest of the article, the insults he hurls, and the fact that he supports Barry Bonds being inducted into the Hall of Fame (he calls it a "no brainer"), I don't know that he will go very far in the political world...

He's a funny guy who doesn't have a filter. Fun to watch. :)

Oh I agree, he's entertaining to watch because he rambles on with no regard for what is coming out of his mouth. That's why I think it's funny he didn't mention on TV that the dems aren't any better than the repubs... It's like he realized it wasn't the best thing to have published, so maybe if he just didn't mention it, it would be forgotten, you know?

He's a bit kooky, in my opinion... Crap. That probably means he'll get elected!

Sir Charles is a really good guy. His heart is in the right place. He is stuck in the same crack as all other Americans. Not being able to vote for the best, just voting for the least worse.

I do love Sir Charles as well.

I will have to remember that line..."Why, I don't work for them" :)

Sir Charles would make a refreshing politician. If he believes it, he will say it... he thinks for himself and I think the reason that he speaks out is wanting better, wanting positive change.

Of course, I disagree with Sir Charles that Christians judge - yes there are those that do,
But in any group you have your good and not so good. Sir Charles should know that.

It's hard to get upset at him though when he does say things that you may not agree with, as you can tell it comes from that big heart of his and not a place of hate. And that is refreshing as well.

I think he has grown up a great deal since his ball playing days.

No, I don't believe he ever coached. But he does do color commentary and is an alaylst for one of the Sports stations. He is very open and honest on that show as well and does make it entertaining.

He was a fine Hall of Fame Ball player . As a Governor if the fools in Alabama choose to elect him?? I expect he will do about the same as Jesse Ventura that 1 term wonder.

Why do you say that? I don't even think you could compare the two. If I lived in Alabama, I sure would give Charles great thought. I think Charles has sincere hope and desire for things to get better and would be motivated to learn what he needed to in order
To make positive changes. Only thing is, he probably would become frustrated as to all the hoops you have to go through in order to make changes. I could see him voicing his frustration, but would I would love about him, I don't see him ever getting swallowed up by the tidle wave and sucked into real politics. He would continue to act on him own mind.
That is something that we need. At least I think so.

Yes, several a whole chain in fact. Don't let his ball playing days influence you. Charles is a bright man. How many professional players make the type of career Charles has done.
Believe me, a good sense of humour can only take you so far. Charles has been out of the NBA for a good bit of years, and still is a positive house hold name (meaning he's not known for negative acts... like um... OJ.)

It takes skill and intelligence to stay out there and he is doing that. I think he is far more intelligent then you may realize.

I stand corrected: Family Day is only a holiday in Alberta and Saskatchewan; not in the province I'm in (though school is closed today and I'm taking my kids bowling :))

Happy Presidents Day to you U.S. types!
