Hope I describe this correctly. Constant drip is coming from head of the shower. I was advised to unscrew the shower head and check the washer. I looked at the washer and it did need replacing. Went to the store and got the correct washer and screwed head back on but the shower still leaks. From reading the other posts I know it is important for the name of the shower but I have no clue. The only info I could see is the name Stanadyne on the circular plate that covers the diverter/stem and Resources Conservations Inc on the side of the shower head. I have included pictures in hopes that they will help. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! :)

Good pics novice. Here, you will need to shut the water off to shower (drain pressure by turning valve on for a second). Then pull that chrome cover off the shower valve.. the one covering the cartridge assembly.. it is the chrome cover in the pic.. covering that copper clip you see in pic... JUST PULLS OFF with a pair of pliers... try not to mar end.

Then you will need to pull that copper clip up and out with a pair of needle nose pliers or similar. Then put the handle back on.. screw back on.. then give a good yank to pull that cartridge out. Will get a lillte water out of valve body when you remove the stem.. but not much. HOLD the rest of the valve body against yourself as you pull with handle on.

Once cartridge is removed take to a home supply store or a plumbing supply store.. they will have replacement cartridge for you. Looks like a MOEN valve... I think is the same as Stanadyne.

All I have said is accurate... but want you to check with some of the other guys online here to make sure your part is not under warranty... see... Moen guarantees parts for lifetime... so if you call 1800buymoen and have your part number or shower valve model number they will ship part to you.. FREE. But I am not sure Stanadyne same as Moen... but I think so... SAME replacement cartridge for sure!

OH... once you get cartridge, pulse water real quick by covering valve with rag and clear any junk out of valve body.. then slick up the oring with a little silicone grease and push into valve tight! Then push clip back down into place... and test it all out. HOPE this does it!

Massplumber2008, I believe you are right. The paragraph below came from Moen's site. I will be removing the cartridge like yesterday!! Thanks for your help.
