    Painting interior arches
I am painting my dining room and there arches at each entrance.

What color do I paint the arches?

The kitchen is darker green and the dining room will be beige (it is currently off-white). Do I paint the arch beige or leave a stip of off white?

At the other entrance to the dining room, the living room is off-white and I will leave it that way. Do I paint the arch the color of the dining room (beige) or do I leave it off-white to match the living room?

Hey mfmcpherson... I always like to offset the trim in any room I paint... make it stand out strong... so I would definitely not paint same color as room. I would probably paint the wood trim with a white semigloss to make it POP off the walls... and I would probably do it to both arches... anyway... just my two cents. I am sure others will share their thoughts soon. Take care

The traditional Interior Design rule is to paint them the color of the room you enter from the most.

I agree with teresaluther, except maybe paint them the same color as the room you use the most, so the color of the living room and kitchen. It really a matter of personal preference though.
