I am using Hampton Bay Light/Dimmer Model: FAN-HD Remote Controls to control on/off, dimmer and fan on Hampton Bay Pinnacle Remington II appliances and would like to use (very expensive but low energy use/low heat production) Sylvania Soft White bulbs (the kind with the twisty glass tubes, but they will not tolerate being dimmed or brightened. I have several very expensive failed bulbs to prove that. Home Depot says that SOME DAY SOME BODY will make dimmer-tolerant bulbs. In the meantime, is there a way to disable the dimmer part of the remote?

No there's not. You have to use standard incandescent bulbs, or special dimmable fluorescents.

As CFR said, you must use dimmable fluorescents. IMO they do not dim very nicely.
I also agree, DO NOT attempt to alter that wall switch!

You can get remote kits without the dim function designed for fluorescent lights.

Or you could add a relay to the equation.
