I have to complete my report on the pavement. Could anyone help to get the answer for the question:-
What are the different between the runway and road pavement????
I need to send the report before 20/02/2008.
Thank you

Runway - from where the plane departure n land, its specially just for that also it have small lights on it so at night the pilot can recognaize it
Roadway - in the sky where the plane flies, the route of the plane
Vote 4 my answer kindly
I took aeronautical engineering and I've never heard the term roadway used to describe a flight path.Quote:

Hi lowtax
Maybe you are right that there is not any term in the books but for long time am working in the airport and this term is present

Try to ask someone in the field
I've done my home work... but I'm an Information Technology back ground Airport staff, being ask to answer this question. Again:-
What are the different between the runway and road pavement????
Please assist me...
mani_jeddah: I am in the field, but I guess it depends where you live
dyna2001: I don't really know specifics but runways are built from steel re-inforced concrete, roads are made with a concrete base with ashphalt over it... anything more than that you'll have to look up.
Road - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Runway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Clearly you misunderstood my intent by asking if you'd done your research. My asking isn't wrong. All you had to do was answer my question.Quote:

This site can and does provide much help to many people, but we're not going to "pave" the way if you don't want to be at least a little bit more understanding. Frankly, I don't care what aspect of airport work you do. If this is outside your realm, you will need to do more research to determine if any of the things you read here or elsewhere are correct and accurate before you can speak knowledgably.
But, it this is how you want to operate, I hope you have a difficult time.
