I always thought I would hate removing wallpaper and my first attempt confirmed that. Then I got nasty and explored the internet and found my SALVATION and it worked!
I simply score the paper with a utility knife, back and forth all the way down (being careful not to cut too deep). I then mixed dishwashing detergent in a spray bottle, about l part to rest water) and sprayed and waited a few minutes. You can then see where the moisture is seeping in under the score marks; then you start peeling it away, keep spraying to wet down the underlay and scrape the rest away.
I did a two layer wallpaper wall like this, but not all at once. It worked for me and will for you too.
I too hate wall paper, hence I remove it more than install it. I bought something called a Tiger Claw that makes hundreds of tiny pin pricks in the paper but not the wallboard. This allows the steam of soaking solution to get under the paper and loosen the glue.
