    State Tax without ITIN?
    Hello All

My wife is on H-4 and I am applying for ITIN with the Federal Tax return.. However, I am not sure if I should submit the same ITIN application with my state tax return... (I live in MA)...

So can somebody help me understand the correct procedure... please.

    Thanks
    RV

Normally, you wait to file your State tax return till you get ITIN.

Some states do allow you to file without ITIN, and then inform them about the ITIN when you get it.
May be some one else has information about MA.

In MA if you file your return without your wife's identification number (SSN or ITIN) they will not process, they will send you a letter ask for it.

You should wait the IRS submitt your wife's ITIN, when youu get it. You should submitt the Form 1 (MA Income Tax Return)
