    Repair frozen pipes
I am looking at buying a house where the water & furnace have been shut off. The heating sys. Is hot air, and it has been winterized, but I don't know when. Should I buy this as is, what would it cost to repair if when the water is turned on and the pipes burst? We are guessing that the pipes are frozen. The house is located in New Hampshire. ErnieD

I would suggest paying for a professional home inspection before buying, that is if you are seriously considering this house. They will tell you the faults and estimate the cost to repair any deficiencies that they find. Then you can make an informed decision.

Yes, often when I buy a home I require the electric and/or water to be turned on for the day to do a home inspection, / and/or the inspector will test water lines with air pressure and electric with a generator.
