    A Historic Day
    Hi all,

Just in case anyone out there was familiar with this issue or indeed just interested in world news, today was a very historic day in Australia.

After years of politicking the Federal Government apologised to our indigenous people for past mistreatments and in particular to the "stolen generation".

    Australia says sorry

Kevin Rudd says sorry - National - smh.com.au

Hopefully this will be the trigger to improve the welfare and quality of life had by our Aboriginies.

I saw that on the news, Skell, and I agree with you. Long overdue.

Just like the Native Americans here, Tom. And all the other promises the government went back on.

Correct . A meaningless apology that makes the person making the apology feel good.

It is about time. We have things brewing here with the Lakota Tribe. I've been watching it and wondering how it will play out since the U.S. government will never apologize to anyone.

I wonder what it is with some people who feel guilty for the sins of their father, and even more so for those who believe they should

You are right. Profit and growth through military backed corporations around the world, paid for by the tax payer, is the only way.

It certainly will ease some long standing tension for groups that will be living together in mostly desert. It is a good day.
