    Microsoft xp home edition
I purchased Microsoft home edition and lost the recovery disk and the key, I have the sticker on my laptop and the card with the key on it but I reboted my computer with a friends disk and my key doesn't work, hers was already used for her computer. I called everywhere and nobody seems to know how to get another disk. Do I have to purchase it again or is there somewhere I can get this info again? Is there a universal key? Also I was told that I can download the disk off limewire but have no idea what to do once it is downloaded, I am in need of help.

You can purchase a CD from Microsoft or a MS Reseller, it's called Media Only disk, doesn't come with a license. Last one I bought was about $20 so you're getting the good stuff, no online versions people post with Trojan Horse viruses built in.

Then you can use the Media CD you bought with the license key that's on the bottom of the laptop to reinstall. If there's any doubt, talk to the MS person and let the check your KEY to make sure they send you the correct CD.
