How do I change the wick in a Kerosun 3870 kerosene heater?

Very carefully disassemble the top housing of the unit, get to where you can crank the wick all the way up and remove from the column. Replace with a new wick, allow it to soak up the kerosene, then light and see if you need to do any trimming.
