    Opt -> h1b forms
    Hi,

    I came to the US in aug. 2005 on f1. I was on opt from jan 2007- sep 2007. From oct 1, 2007 I am on h1b. My questions are

    1) what forms do I need to fill ?

    2) the social security and medicare tax deductions started after I changed to h1b (they were first deducted during my opt but later my employer refunded them). Since the FICA deductions did not start until I was in h1b, should I fill any "special" form to indicate that those deductions were not done during my opt and started when I was in h1b ? Where would I enter this fact ?

    Thanks,
    -Venkat

    1) Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ, as you will file as a non-resident alien.

    2) No special forms.

    Thanks a lot. Just one more question. I live in Missouri. Can you please tell me the appropriate state tax form to use for my case ?

    Thanks,
