    Thermastat wire mixup
Bought a new thermastat hunter 40170. Took off old one and stickers for wiring came off. We do not know which wire goes where now? Green, black, yellow, & red. Which one goes in G, RH, RC, W. ON THE SIDE IT ALSO HAS B, O, Y? HELP!!

On thermostat red is common 24 volts, White is heat, yellow or blue is cool, and green is fan in many systems I see. You will have to see what they connect to in the Air Handler, Cooling will be the pair that goes to outside compressor(connects to yellow or blue. Green(fan) wire will go to fan relay.
If you only have 4 conductors and no white, that black could be used for that, Still need to open Air Handler, or momentarily touch red to other wires to see what they control.
