My husband wants to adopt my six-year-old son, whom he knows has his only father. My sons biological father has only been around when my son was about 2 1/2 months old. His biological father knows where we live and has not tried to contact him or myself. The only time he asked to see him, is when we had DNA done in 2004. He asked to see him and I told him to get a lawyer. After that, I have never heard from him again. My husband and I would like to know how we go about getting biological fatters right taken away so my husband can adopt my son.

You will need an attorney who will draw up paperwork and ask the bio father to sign over his rights to allow your husband to adopt.

At this time any chld support he is suppose to pay will end.
