Encryption of passwords

Hi guys,
Hello every one I was wondering if the passwords we enter Yahoo messenger or Yahoo mail are straight away encrypted because when I was trying to sniff my networks traffic 4 passwords I was hardly able to make out something and also I would like to suggest me some nice sniffer tools so that its going to help me. Iam looking forward 4 your replies thanks

I am not into sniffers but the passwords are encrypted.

Excuse me, but I don't think you have ANY right to do this. If you are the administrator of a company network and you want to restrict employees form using Yahoo to check mail on company time, you have the right to do so. But you do not have the right to try and determine their passwords. If you were to use those passwords it would violate US Federal law.

If you are trying to do this on a home network, again, you do not have the right to invade someone's privacy like that.

Please do not ask or expect us to help with illegal or unethical activities.

Let me get this straight: you say that US laws don't apply to you so it's OK to attach a packet sniffer to a network to get passwords? And you want us to help you?

Hey mister Needkarma and whome so ever going through topic let me tel something straight I did never ask some one to tel me how to sniff someone's passwords neither did I ask how to get passwords of other user and I don't need such things either all I wanted is "whether passwords are encrypted or not"
Because I was studying https and I wanted to know if they use it I mean Yahoo that's it and you guys are trying to mess it up one says us laws and the other says you need help from us what is this is this a kind of joke or what anyway thanks mr needkarma I may not be an expert like you but sure am what I am a "kid"

Yes of course its tru but I had a reason to do that because as I was interested in studying "HTTPS" that's it my teacher told me that https is used 4 encrypting passwords and so did I try some sniffing tools nothing more than that because I have heard that it gives me packests so the bottom line to say is I wanted to know whether "encryption algorithms were used" and my next question was what sought of encryption algorithms

As Need pointed out you did, in fact, state that you were trying to sniff passwords. I specifically mentioned that it was US law because I couldn't be sure where you were located.

But whether you are bound by those laws or not is immaterial. The FACT is that what you were talking and asking about is UNETHICAL if not illegal. And we will NOT help with things like that.

We can see the letters fine. Understanding what the letters mean is another issue. As for what you wanted to know, it was answered previously. As for the rest, your unethical behavior, your unitelligible writing and your crude attitude is not going to inspire people to help you.
