    Calculator/volume control removed
I was told to install Internet exploreer 7. I went to add/remove then window components, I clicked on IE and click next. Finally come message came the process has been successfully completed. Later I found out the calculator, and volume control have been removed. How can I reinstall them. One computer person told me to repeat the same process and it will reinstall again but it didn't work. Can any one suggest something.

    Try first step first

If they are not still installed go to control panel ,add and remove programs and on the left side add.remove windows components ,click it open accessories and utilitys ,details /accessories, click details again and check to install calculator .if its install check to uninstall OK you what back out then go back in and reinstall it .

Go to start /run type in calc.exe ,see if you calculator still works ,
I don't know what you were using to record unless it was just the windows recorder,in that case type this ,sndrec32.exe into run and see if its still installed .
If they are installed and working come back and I will show you how to put them back in accessories .

Downloading IE7 has nothing to do with volume control and calculator.
If they're missing, try the following: click on start button on your taskbar,
Go to All programs then Accessories. You can locate Calculator there.

If not, then go to Start on taskbar and then click on Run. Type calc and
Click OK. It will directly open Calculator application for you.

For volume control, go to Start on taskbar and then control panel.
Select Sound, Speech and Audio Devices. You will find volume control
    Options there.

Thank you Mr. Seahwk83. I followed through the windows components and it worked. Actually I was removing IE6 to install IE7 and suddenly I noticed this problem. But My volume control program is not working. I opened it in the control pannel and tried to send it to taskbar but it says the volume control program is not installed. Is there any way to install it again.

If you have the xp cd

    Windows CD Volume Control Recovery

    Quote:

The method for recovering the volume control app from the Windows CD is almost identical to the method for recovering from the recovery partition. Insert the Windows CD in your CD drive. Hold down the Shift key as it loads to prevent AutoPlay from trying to launch the installer.

Open a command prompt by clicking Start > Run (Windows Key+R). Type cmd in the Open line and click OK.

Type in the following, replacing the E:\ and C:\ drives with your CD drive and system partition respectively.

    Expand e:\i386\sndvol32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\dllcache\sndvol32.exe

    Hit Enter and then type:

    Expand e:\i386\sndvol32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe
