    Mother & Daughter on checking account
    Hello,My daughter has bad credit from divorce and is having a problem opening a checking account ,she currently has a checking but the rates are high and very far from her home.My question is can I open a checking account and have my daughter on it with full use,when opening accounts yoou have to give your s s # and her credit stops her .can I use only my ss # Thank You Brutis

    It is possible that you two can open a joint account, they will look at your and her credit both. With your good they may allow her an account,
    Often if you go to the bank you deal with, and talk to them in person.

    Why would they balk at giving her a checking account? Unless she has a history of passing bad checks, that wouldn't make sense.

    Scott many banks look at your creidt history and our credit score, if you have too low of score they will not give you a checking account,
    Of course that is a good reason to deal with your local small town bank where they know you by name.
