Yes, during birth, a lot of things get passed on...
It's unfortunate, but there are some diseases that are passed on the babies during birth. For instance, if a mother has herpes, and she is having a 'flare' of this while giving birth to the baby, the baby will first show signs by having what they call 'thrush' shortly after birth (usually revealed by a yellowish coating on the tongue and inner mouth, and they need antibiotics). This condition could rest for years and suddenly flare up in the child, and some might think it's just cysts, or painful pimples when they flare. Only a doctor can tell you what the problem is, so please get yourself checked out. This is the golden rule - when in doubt, see a doctor.
