Do I have to be my husbands sponsor
I'm american and my husband is lebanese,we're trying to get an immigration visa so he can come with me to the U.S. We were told in the U.S embassy from qatar that my husband needed to be sponsored either from myself or from someone in the U.S that is paying taxes.were having a difficult time trying to find someone who will sponsor him,and I'm not in the U.S nor working at the moment. Is there any other way that I can get my husband a visa,or is it possible that I can work here in qatar and pay taxes so I can be my husbands sponsor?

If the Embassy told you that he has to be sponsored by someone in the US who is working... then you have to find a working sponsor in the US.

It would appear on the face that, no, working in Qatar and paying taxes there will not entitle you to sponsor him in the US.

You could also come back to the US, get a job, get established, sponsor him. I realize you don't want to be apart but I don't see any options other than what the Embassy has already told you.
