Thanks for providing this great service. I am working on my 2007 taxes and noticed a mistake on my 2006 taxes. I am in the process of completing a 1040X (which is no small undertaking).

Can you please explain how I will use these revised numbers, if at all, for 2007? Since the IRS has not yet received my amended 2006 tax return, do I use last years incorrect numbers to complete the 2006 questions on this years new tax forms? Or can I use the corrected numbers?

Your revised numbers for 2006 should have NO EFFECT on your 2007 return unless it involves depreciation, charity carryovers or capital loss carryovers.
