    Joint tax return in two states
    HI,
    I lived in California for 6 months of 2007 where I was employed while my husband was doing research without pay . I then moved to Michigan where I lived as a housewife and he started a new job.
    Do I need to file taxes in both states? Can someone give me instructions.

    Yes, tax returns will be needed for BOTH Calfironia and Michigan as part-year residens for both states.
