    Wiring a new 220V oven
I need help. I am no electrician by any terms. But I have recently bought a new oven and I need help figuring out the wiring. The oven has 4 wires coming out of it. Black, white, red, and 1 bare solid copper wire. Now, The wiring to connect it to only has 3 wires. Black, white, and a solid bare copper wire. What goes where?

electrical requirements for many appliances, dishwashers, ranges, refrigerators, microwaves, washing machines, dryers, gas ranges, 220 volts, 110 volts, ground wire

The most commonly used outlet receptacle for an Electric range and Dryer plug is an 4 wire outlet

Most 220-240 volt circuits today are a 4 wire circuit. Red-->power... black-->power... white-->neutral... green or bare, ground. Check to make sure

For 3 wire BLACK is HOT --- WHITE is HOT --- BARE WIRE is NEUTRAL
    Check to make sure
