I've got a 2000 jetta that the remote stopped working. I can't get the alarm to shut off even though I use the key to unlock the doors and start the car. The alarm is going off even though the car is running. Also how do you reprogram the remote if I puchase a used on off say e-bay ?

Check Your Battery IN your remote. If the alarm is after market pull the fuse until you can find the electrical problem. It may have been wired wrong? Same thing happened to a friend of mine with a different vehicle.
